Rotel’s Michi Range Gains X3 and X5 Integrated Amps

The return of Rotel's Michi range return has been well received by fans and reviewers alike, and now the range seems set to expand with the addition of the X3 and X5 integrated amplifiers.

The Rotel Michi X3 (£4,300) and X5 (£6,300) integrated amplifiers join the range which was introduced in October last year with the P5 Preamplifier, S5 Stereo Power Amplifier, and M8 Monoblock Power Amplifier. Both the P5 and S5 were reviewed by StereoNET recently attracting our coveted and well-deserved Applause Award.

Designed using critical evaluation of every circuit, signal path and component in combination with the use of in-house key technologies, the X3 and X5 share the industrial design and finish of the recently launched models.

The Michi X3's Class AB amp is rated at 350 watts per channel (4 ohms) and features 13 source inputs including 1 x XLR, 3 x analogue RCA, 3 digital optical and 3 coaxial inputs, USB Type B, moving magnet phono input, and aptX Bluetooth. There is an AKM 32-bit/ 768kHz Digital to Analogue Converter on board to do the number-crunching.

The Michi X5 steps up to 600 watts and adds to the input count with another pair of RCA inputs and an MM/MC phono input. It also adds DSD and MQA to the AKM DAC chip's skill set.

A high-resolution front panel display on both devices allows easy access to all setup options and a user-selectable choice of display readouts is available and includes operating status, 12-band graphic EQ or a Peak Power Meter.
