Orchard Audio Expands into Headphone Market with Valencia Headphone Amplifier
Orchard Audio, a boutique American audio company known for its handcrafted DACs, streamers, and amplifiers, has announced its entry into the headphone market with the launch of Valencia.
This high-performance, balanced headphone amplifier is designed to drive the most demanding and highly sensitive headphones. With a power output of 17W per channel (WPC) in a class AB balanced design, Valencia can also power high-sensitivity speakers, delivering 7 watts into 8Ω.
The Valencia marks Orchard Audio’s first collaboration with renowned audio commentator Z-Reviews. It leverages the company’s expertise in high-fidelity amplification and Z-Reviews’ industry insights. The result, according to the company, is a methodically engineered amplifier that delivers a transparent, dynamic, and detailed sound profile, aiming to set a new benchmark in headphone amplification.
Orchard Audio highlights Valencia’s fully balanced design, with independent linear power supplies for each channel, minimising noise and distortion to preserve the fine details of the music. The sleek sandblasted aluminium chassis is available in anodised black or natural aluminium, ensuring it seamlessly integrates with high-end desktop setups or Orchard Audio’s own PecanPi+ streamers.
Orchard Audio claims that Valencia features a fully balanced power amplifier from input to output, designed to ensure optimal signal integrity and minimal distortion. It delivers 14dB of gain with a signal-to-noise ratio of over 134dB (A-weighted), which the company states provides a pristine and detailed soundstage. With 17W output into 32Ω, the amplifier can drive a wide range of headphones, from 8Ω to 600Ω, while also being suitable for high-sensitivity speakers. Housed in a premium aluminium enclosure, Valencia's sleek, sandblasted finish is available in anodised black or natural aluminium, making it an elegant addition to any high-end audio setup.

The Orchard Audio Valencia is available for discounted preorder pricing of US$1,599.95 (MSRP US$1,999.95). The amplifier will debut publicly at AXPONA in Chicago, with shipments starting in late April 2025. Audio enthusiasts will also get an early look at Valencia at NYC CanJam later this month.
