Cambridge Audio x DeLorean: these two companies, each with their own distinctive and enduring heritage, are embarking on a design-led journey to bring leading audio technology and high-quality sound to the driving experience of the new Alpha5, the latest concept in the continued evolution of the DeLorean brand, which of course became legendary thanks to the exploits of Doc Brown and Marty McFly in the Back To The Future movies.

The British audio specialist is partnering with the iconic (and sometimes time-travelling) DeLorean Motor Company, Inc. to develop "thrilling in-car sound" for a new generation of electric vehicles.

The new partnership will be celebrated during Monterey Car Week, with Cambridge Audio powering the bespoke soundtrack for events occurring at the DeLorean House in Pebble Beach. Here, guests can experience superb sound courtesy of the latest Cambridge Audio flagship products, including Edge hi-fi separates and the Evo system.

Additionally, should you want to go back in time (without having to hit 88mph), there will also be a selection of products from Cambridge Audio's rich heritage, including the company's first-ever P40 amplifier, released in 1968.

The Alpha5 concept is an all-electric, 2+2 vehicle that maintains its predecessors' signature gullwing doors, classic rear louvres and three-layered taillights. However, the Alpha5 hits a claimed 60mph in 2.99 seconds and boasts a projected top speed of 155 mph.

The all-wheel-drive vehicle promises an exceptional driving experience with multi-mode adaptive suspension, dynamic handling and an estimated 300-mile range from a full tank of sparks.

The global reveal of the Alpha5 will be on Thursday, August 18th, at the Pebble Beach Awards Ramp.
