SONOS MOVE DETAILS LEAKED

Sonos will soon be revealing its first-ever portable Bluetooth speaker at IFA 2019.

IFA is always good for tech leaks, and it looks like this year won't be any different.

We had heard whispers regarding an all-new speaker from Sonos and now, thanks to WinFuture, we not only have more details and pictures but also an alleged name to tag the portable speaker.

Sonos Move

The Sonos Move, as it is apparently dubbed, is the first of the brand's devices to be battery powered. Furthermore, it will be packing wi-fi as well as Bluetooth. Those wireless skills will enable you to stream music within a Sonos ecosystem as well as being able to listen offline over Bluetooth away from the mains.

We are told that the images here are legit and so confirms that the Move will share its overall aesthetic with the Sonos One. However, as the Move needs room for a battery and such to allow it to roam, it is said to be marginally larger than the One. That said, we are to expect similar performance from the portable as the wired One.

We had heard that the Move would have cable-free recharging via a base station. This rumour appears to be accurate as you can see a pair of connection points on the lower rear of the unit. Alternatively, it also appears the speaker can be charged directly via USB-C. Possibly this could also recharge your portable device, who knows?

Also at the rear are buttons to select Bluetooth or wi-fi mode.

Additionally, you get LEDs to show battery status alongside the typical playback buttons on the top.

If physical controls are too 20th century, there are as six microphones dotted about the Move enabling voice control via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

As for the rest of the details, well, unless more is leaked, all will become clear at IFA Berlin between Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th September. Of course, StereoNET will be there as usual.
