Rinaro Gives BE@RBRICK A Voice
Rinaro, the company behind Meze Audio's premium headphones' trick drivers, has lent its technical know-how to give Medicom's collectable BE@RBRICK a new skill.
Medicom Toy has enlisted the acoustic knowledge of Rinaro Isodynamics to create the first BE@RBRICK Audio Portable Bluetooth Speaker. The resulting 400% size (280mm tall) figure promises to not only unlock “a new dimension for fans”, but the manufacturer has dubbed it “a masterpiece of mechanical and audio engineering”.
Rinaro Isodynamics may be more familiar to readers as the smarts behind the planar magnetic drivers found in Meze Audio's impressive Liric, Empyrean and Elite headphones. However, this latest partnership apparently sees the company's acoustic chops tested over 20,000 hours of engineering time resulting in 214 newly-designed parts to create “one of the most cutting-edge BE@RBRICKs ever”.
We're told this figure is designed to be authentic to the original BE@RBRICK 400%, yet reimagined for exceptional audio playback thanks to the Rinaro-developed QUAD'360 omnidirectional sound technology featuring four custom-engineered acoustic drivers (two 20mm tweeters + two 40mm woofers) set in the BE@RBRICK's head achieving a quoted 90Hz - 20,000Hz (-6dB) frequency range, SNR >80dB, and 2x10W output in “a seamless 360-degree field of sound”.
iOS or Android devices easily connect via Bluetooth and a single button press. However, the volume and track selection controls are in the left and right hands for added fan appeal. Twist the right hand to skip the track and twist the left to change the playback volume.
Furthermore, two BE@RBRICK Audio speakers can be connected to create a true stereo pair, delivering a more immersive experience.
The speaker boasts up to 6 hrs of portable listening and a rapid battery charging time of 1.5 hrs via USB-C. Additionally, the battery has been designed to be easily swapped out in the future to ensure years of playback.
The BE@RBRICK Audio portable Bluetooth speaker will be available from November in limited Clear, Smoke and Black designs priced at $US499/ JPY 70,000.
