B&W Announces Updated Px7 S2e Headphones
Replacing the Px7 S2, Bowers & Wilkins' new Px7 S2e is an incremental upgrade but one that benefits customers who have been holding out for something better.
Replacing the Px7 S2, the new Px7 S2e is an incremental upgrade but one that benefits customers who have been holding out for something better. The exterior hasn’t changed, with the same design being used. However, Bowers & Wilkins has added a new Forest Green colourway that looks absolutely gorgeous when paired with the gold strip that runs around the earcup, between the buttons and the leather earpads.
Dave Sheen, Brand President of Bowers & Wilkins, told StereoNET:
I’m delighted that the team has been able to build upon the excellence of Px7 S2. We always challenge ourselves to do better and with the new Px7 S2e our engineers have truly excelled themselves. I can’t wait to see our customers reaction to our latest headphone launch.
Inside is where you’ll find the bigger change, with an upgraded Digital Signal Processing (DSP) engine optimised by Bowers & Wilkins for better performance, including support for 24-bit high-res sound from compatible streaming services. The acoustic platform has also been retuned by the company’s engineers for better detail, dynamics and spaciousness.
The drivers remain untouched, using the same custom-designed 40mm units that are angled in each earcup to ensure sound gets directed more accurately and consistently into the listener’s ear. Active Noise Cancellation is also included, with six microphones working together to measure the output of the drivers, react to ambient noise, as well as take clear calls with background noise suppression.
The Px7 S2e works with the Bowers & Wilkins Music App, which has been the company’s solution for most of their new wireless headphones and earphones when it comes to controls and configuration, as well as direct music streaming from platforms like Deezer, Tidal and more.
Battery life remains unchanged at 30 hours on a single charge, with a 15-minute quick charge providing up to seven hours of listening time.
Retailing at £379/ €429, the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e are available now.
