Goldmund Telos 690 Integrated Amplifier
The Telos 690 may offer connectivity, but Goldmund's new integrated is just as focused on power and precision.
The Telos 690 integrated amplifier from Swiss luxury audio creators Goldmund boasts a 350 VA dual toroidal transformer and a massive 46,000 µF smoothing capacity, which, says the company, results in improved dynamics, response, and clarity (THD+N, unloaded: < 0.08 % from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at 30 Vrms output).
This should also mean that the Telos 690 has sufficient power to easily drive any speaker, even in a large listening room, thanks to a quoted output of 2 x 250 Wrms at 8Ω and 2 x 320 Wrms at 4Ω.
Of course, the Telos 690 does, in fact, offer a range of digital connectivity options, including a USB Audio Class 2.0 interface supporting Hi-Res audio up to 32-bit/384 kHz. There is also an optical and a coaxial digital connection. Five RCA stereo line inputs are available for analogue sources.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Telos 690's casing is typically Goldmund. Expect precision mechanics, while the improved panel structure is said to strengthen the amplifier's chassis, improve mechanical grounding, and dampen the propagation of physical vibrations.
The Goldmund Telos 690 is priced at £32,500.
