Focal's Littora range of outdoor speakers promises to be impervious to most of what the elements can through at them thanks to their IP45, IP55 and IP65 certifications. This means gardens, pool areas, your patio and, errrr… yacht or spa area truly become an extension to your indoor space.

While the Littora 1000 ICW and 200 ICW install options are clever and said to possess the French audio specialist's speaker savvy, it's the OD Stone 8 – an egg-shaped speaker available in textured Limestone, Basalt and Sand finishes - that has caught our eye thanks to its novel design and promise of high-fidelity performance.

How about a magic mushroom to go with that egg? Poised to be everyone's favourite fungi, the OD Sub 12 is a semi-buried subwoofer that promises to bring the subterranean foundations to your outdoor soundtrack.

The OD range is rounded out by the OD Sat 5 speakers: versatile designs that can be wall-mounted or even 'planted' in the ground via optional spike fitments.

The three models utilise Focal's all-weather IRIS IP cone speaker drivers, and the speakers are anti-UV treated alongside their dust and water protection. Furthermore, the OD Stone 8 and OD Sat 5 incorporate an Aluminum M-shaped coaxial tweeter for “clear and defined treble reproduction in large spaces”.

The Littora speakers feature a power transformer that allows them to be linked together within a 100V system and allows individual volume management for each speaker within the system.

The OD Stone 8 loudspeaker sports a pebble-shaped design and a textured rock effect for garden camouflage. Whereas, the OD Sat 5 and OD Sub 12 products are also available in Dark or Light finishes.

Meanwhile, there are also two series of in-wall and in-ceiling speaker drivers: Littora 1000 ICW and Littora 200 ICW. The first is the flagship series inspired by the Utopia line of in-wall / in-ceiling range and includes the 1000 ICW8 and ICW10, boasting outstanding outdoor sound. These are joined by the 1000 ICW SUB10 subwoofer.

Finally, Littora 200 ICW features the compact 200 ICW6 and ICW8 speaker drivers, promising performance and comprehensive sound coverage.

The Littora 1000 series benefits from a Fibre IP cone, while the Iris IP cone is fitted in Littora 200, blending performance, discretion, and ease of integration with IP65 certification.

Focal's Littora 200 ICW and 1000 ICW speakers are available from November, while you have to wait til the new year for the OD Stone 8, OD Sat 5 and OD Sub 12 to be added to your grounds.
