FiiO’s M23 DAP & K19 Flagship Desktop DAC/Amp Launching Soon

FiiO is lining up its new M23 digital audio player alongside a flagship desktop DAC/ headphone amplifier.

The Chi-Fi brand is well known for great products at affordable prices, with even the company's excellent flagship products still very competitively priced. FiiO's latest releases have been announced as the M23 DAP and the company's new flagship K19 desktop headphone DAC/amp.

FIIO M23

Looking at the M23 DAP first, the device is powered by flagship AKM AK4191EQ and AKM AK4499EX DAC chips, with support for audio files up to and including 24-bit / 384kHz PCM/DSD256 and MQA files. The M23 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and runs on a custom Android OS, allowing complete SRC bypass. The upshot is that music streaming apps such as TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, and Deezer can be installed and enjoyed in full lossless quality.

With a dual power supply, the M23 has a Desktop Mode that can be activated when using external USB power. This allows for the “Super-High” gain option to be activated, delivering 1000mW of power per channel at 32ohms.

The M23 offers both 3.5mm unbalanced and 4.4mm balanced outputs. It can also connect to your headphones via Bluetooth using aptX and LDAC codecs for high-res audio, as well as receive audio from your mobile device, turning it into a Bluetooth DAC/amp.

The DAP has a 5.5-inch HD touchscreen display and 64GB of onboard storage, while battery stamina is claimed to last 10.5 hours. MicroSD cards up to 2TB are supported for audiophiles with larger music libraries.

FIIO K19

Moving on to the K19 desktop headphone DAC/amp, it's the company's flagship and certainly looks the part.

Sporting dual eight-channel ES9039SPRO DACs and multiple inputs/outputs, including HDMI ARC, RCA, coaxial, XLR-4, 6.35mm, and 4.4mm options, the FiiO K19 can natively playback audio files up to 32-bit / 768kHz PCM/DSD512. Thanks to the dual eight-channel THX AAA788+ amplification, the K19 promises to drive even the most power-hungry headphones with up to 8000mW of power output.

Rounding things up is a Ground Lift Switch, an RS323 and USB Type-C port and the choice between either 15V DC power or 100-240V 50/60Hz 40W AC power.

Priced at £649/ €700, the FiiO M23 DAP will be available from April 2024 onwards in Blue Titanium or Stainless Steel and is available for preorder now.

Coming in Black or Silver, the FiiO K19 is launching in March with an RRP of £1,249/ €1,300.
