Denon’s 8K AVC-X6800H Seeks Role In “Ultimate Home Theatre”
The AVC-X6800H promises Denon's legendary sound alongside 11.4-channels of 3D audio.
Denon's AVC-X6800H audio/video amplifier uses the full suite of audio and video technologies to serve as the foundation for the ultimate home theatre, so states the Japanese manufacturer.
Admittedly, the AVC-X6800H seems to offer plenty for the home cinema fan, including 11.4 channels of amplification, 3D audio, 8K video, and 205 watts per channel (6 ohm, 1kHz, 1% 1ch Drive, or 140 watts per channel @ 8 ohm, 20Hz - 20kHz, 0.05% 2ch Drive) of “legendary Denon power.” Additionally, the AVC-X6800H has added flexibility in preamplifier mode, with up to 13.4 channel processing.
Those channels can be put into full effect through the AVC-X6800H's support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro 3D, as well as Dolby Surround, DTS Neural:X and Auro-Matic up mixer optimize legacy content.
Meanwhile, 8K video is supported on all seven of the unit's HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs with HLG, HDR, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR pass-through. Analogue audio is catered for via eight pairs of RCA inputs, including the moving magnet phono stage. You also get a couple each of coax and optical ports.
Gamers will likely appreciate its Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Quick Frame Transport (QFT) support, and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), which promises a smooth, lag-free gaming experience when connected to compatible gaming devices.
Naturally, you also get HEOS onboard, enabling you to access streaming music services and link up with HEOS-enabled speakers in other rooms. This is fed via Wi-Fi or wired ethernet with Bluetooth connectivity, offering further flexibility.
Audyssey room correction is included, ensuring you get a perfect performance every time, with the option of upgrading to Dirac Live for an additional fee.
The AVC-X6800H AV amplifier is available priced at at £3,000/ €3,500.
