AURALiC Unveils Next-Gen Aries & Vega Streaming Products
AURALiC Aries G2.2, Vega G2.2, Aries G3 and Vega G3 launched at High End Munich 2023.
AURALiC's Aries G2.2, Vega G2.2, Aries G3 and Vega G3 are set for release this summer, with visitors to High End Munich 2023 being the first to see them in the metal.
AURALiC states that the four new products “represent a generational shift in the technology platform while maintaining the understated elegance and classic design of the G series UnityChassis II”. If you recall, UnityChassis II incorporates a pure copper sub-enclosure and multi-point tuned sprung base assembly.
New for AURALiC's latest streaming quartet is the company's Tesla G3 streaming platform that employs 64-bit architecture, enabling it to achieve eight times the processing power of the previous version, according to the brand.
Additionally, memory has been increased to 4 GB, with Direct Memory Access Technology (DMA) being integrated into the system. We're told that this has been done in such a way that all audio-related circuits connect directly to the system memory, substantially reducing latency and jitter by 90% compared to its predecessor.
Dirac's advanced technology is also on board, ensuring the highest quality audio experience.
AURALiC ARIES G2.2 & G3
AURALiC states that its Aries G2.2 wireless streaming transport and Aries G3 wireless streaming processor have been totally redesigned under the hood, incorporating over 90% new components.
The USB DAC output now boasts second-generation galvanic isolation technology alongside enhanced compatibility with a wide range of DACs. Meanwhile, the new Purer-Power low noise power supply design features double the capacity of preceding G2.1 models, promising even lower noise levels and “extremely stable and reliable power” to the device.
Furthermore, the optional internal music storage is now based on NVMe SSD technology, delivering read and write speeds up to ten times faster than its predecessor. You also get the option of USB 3.0-connected external storage.
As well as the Aries G3's transport skills, thanks to its multiple inputs and powerful FPGA-based Proteus X1 co-processing platform, it can also function as a pre-amplifier for digital connections, providing comprehensive control over your audio system. With dual 60fs femto clocks powering its digital outputs, the ARIES G3 promises the highest levels of precision and accuracy.
Should you demand more, Aries G2.2 and G3 are compatible with the LEO GX.1 reference master clock.
AURALiC VEGA G2.2 & G3
The VEGA G2.2 and G3 retain key features of the G2.1, such as AURALiC's proprietary Fusion DAC structure, Direct Data Recording (DDR), Galvanic Isolation, passive analogue volume control, and analogue pre-amplifier.
However, both units avoid using a PLL circuit as we're told it cannot entirely remove the distortion and jitter present in the original clock signal. Instead, it records the audio data directly into the Tesla G3 processing platform's system memory in binary format, bypassing the original clock signal entirely. According to the manufacturer, the upshot is that both new Vegas are “immune to the input signal's distortion and jitter, delivering the highest level of sound quality possible”.
As well as the Tesla G3 platform, Vega G2.2 and G3 also boast new dual 60fs Femto Clocks powering the DAC operation and time the Tesla G3's data output to the DAC. Like the new Aries, the Vega G3 also benefits from the cutting-edge Proteus X1 co-processing platform's digital filtering and oversampling, delivering an unmatched listening experience.
AURALiC says that, compared to the G2.2, the Vega G3 incorporates an enhanced DAC design, delivering a 30% reduction in distortion and noise and a 50% improvement in dynamic range. Moreover, the Vega G3 can run in Pure DAC mode, disabling its internal streaming functions.
The Aries G2.2 (£5,299/ €5,999) and VEGA G2.2 (£6,899/ €7,799) are scheduled to commence shipping in July, while the Aries G3 (€7,799/ €10,899) and Vega G3 (£10,699/ €11,899) are expected to be available for shipping in August.
AURALiC is showcasing all four new products and cutting-edge streaming technology at High End Munich between the 18th and 22nd of May in room Atrium 4.2G E211.
